Hi! My name is Emily Clark and I am a junior Pre-Nursing student at TTU. This June, I’ve been given an amazing opportunity to travel to La Romana, Dominican Republic for two weeks with Gap Medics to shadow a variety of nurses in their local hospitals. It has been a dream of mine to see parts of the world that call for medical attention as a mission worker to help those who are less fortunate. The Dominican Republic has one of the best healthcare systems in the Caribbean and is graced with a year-round tropical climate. Unfortunately, the warm weather also comes with a high population of mosquito-borne illnesses, like dengue and malaria. In addition, a high rate of motor vehicle accidents contributes to busy trauma centers throughout the country. I’m so excited to contribute to this community and see how I can make a difference. 

My two-week trip will give me experiences that I will carry with me forever, and I am reaching out to see if you could help me in making this trip happen. Luckily, my awesome parents are willing to help me out as much as possible with funding, but while the experiences I'll have on this trip are priceless, the trip itself is very costly, as well as airfare. This trip will assist me in my ultimate goal of becoming the greatest nurse I can be and I would greatly appreciate any donation to help me afford this trip!

Furthermore, I’ll be traveling alongside my best friend/roommate Kelsey Elliot. We ask for your continuous prayers for our travels and safety as we make this trip to La Romana this summer. We’re so excited!
