I am Suhaib Abu Hussam, a father of four children, living in northern Gaza — in the shadow of destruction and despair. I have been displaced over and over again. Each time I flee with my children in my arms, hoping it will be the last. But the bombs keep falling, and the sky never clears. My home has been reduced to rubble. The place where my children once laughed is now dust and silence.
Hunger has become our daily companion. My children go to sleep with empty stomachs and wake up to the sound of explosions. They don’t ask for toys or sweets — they ask for bread, for water, for a moment without fear. And I… I have nothing to give.
The siege has choked every lifeline. There is no food, no medicine, no safety. Nights are cold and full of fear. Days are long and heavy with the weight of survival. I try to be strong, but inside I’m shattered. I look at my children and wonder how long I can keep them alive.
I’m not asking for luxury — just the basics of life. A roof to protect us. A war
