Hello everyone,

My name is Leah Drusin, and I’m essentially Wyatt’s mom in every way that counts. On my daughter’s birthday, Wyatt suffered a devastating injury—he broke his back. He recently underwent surgery, which thankfully went well, and he is now able to walk. However, his road to recovery is going to be long and difficult.

Unfortunately, Wyatt’s parents are unable to provide the care he needs at moment. So I’m taking over all responsibility. I’ve been by his side through the hospital stay, and I will continue to be there to manage his recovery. Wyatt will require daily or near-daily physical therapy, transportation to and from appointments, help with basic tasks, and constant supervision for the foreseeable future.

In order to care for Wyatt, I’ve had to take time off work—and I will continue to need flexibility in order to keep up with his care needs. I’m also still responsible for the other children in my home. It’s a lot, and I’m doing everything I can, but I can’t do it alone.

One immediate need is a proper orthopedic bed to support his recovery, which costs around $3,000. He also needs help covering the basics—food, medical supplies, and transportation—so that he can focus on healing.
