Jodie and Darren (Sam's cousin) are dedicating a 100 mile walk in memory of Samantha Slade

July 2024 Sam got diagnosed with neurendocrine tumor. This turned Sam's family upside down. Not Sam.. no she was so positive about everything they told her it would be a slow cancer. Sam attended lots of appointments birmingham mainly but Wolverhampton also.. so much more should have been done for Sam but wasn't. In January Sam ended up in hospital where they informed her of a stage 4 cancer now.. quite a few things said to family and Sam still trying to be very positive. Mothers day weekend Sam went back into hospital this time the news hit through the family like a wrecking ball! They was told days is all they had left.. days how? So many questions so many still unanswered. That meant Sam's Husband Tomo had to sit there 2 children down Charlie 15 and Jess 9 to say the angels are coming for mom! In what world is this right she's so young 40 is no age! 3 weeks Sam battled on.. close family and a few friends was with her every second! Unfortunately Sunday 5th April 2026 Sam passed away and went with the angels

Sam is the strongest lady we've all ever known or will ever know! She was so brave with having to battle all of this. Sam is the biggest Inspiration there is!

So with all this in mind myself, Darren, my brother Antony and his partner Kaytie have decided we want to walk 100 miles from Leeds to Wolverhampton where Sam was brought up. Friday 3rd July 2026 we take on the challenge of a 3 day walk spreading it out with stops to get some rest at night and ending it on Sunday 5th July 2026. This will be a long way, a tough challenge at our feet but nothing will compare to what Sam went through and what all of her family and friends are going through now and everyday from now.
