Dinner for 110 Sawyerville Day Camp Staff -June 22, 2024
Donation protected

We are raising funds to provide dinner for 120 Sawyerville Day Camp (SDC) Staff on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
Sawyerville Summer Camp is a free day camp for children and youth ages 6-14 living in Hale County, Alabama. Each Summer SDC hosts three four-day camp sessions, welcoming over 500 campers and more than 200 volunteer staff. The staff are high school and college-age young people ages 16 and up. The staff come from all over the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama and the local community. And they are hungry at the end of a long hot day.
Churches, communities, and friends of Sawerville provide a fresh hot meal each night to the volunteer high school and college-age leaders. I have volunteered to coordinate The Women at the Well to provide a taco bar for staff on Saturday, June 22.
My family and I will drive the meal to Greensboro, set-up, serve, and clean-up after the meal. Can you help us raise the $ needed to provide the meal? And if you want to go with us - the more the merrier! Share in the magic and fun of Sawyerville in whatever capacity you can.
These are my kids when they served on staff and when one was a camper for several years while I served as camp mom. Recently, my oldest son ran into a fellow staffer from years ago - they both work at Vulcan and they were so excited they face-timed me from their work site. My youngest has remained in touch with a young man who was a fellow camper and now they serve on staff together. This is the magic of Sawyerville - be a part of it!
