Expenses for twins

Hello everyone! Thank you for everyone who has prayed and followed our Luna Twin journey!

it has been a whirlwind of a few days! We have been through all the emotions. We are thrilled that Zion and Jupiter are here and healthy.

Just to back up and give some insight into our story. I was put on bed rest at the beginning of April. This was unexpected to us and something we didn’t foresee happening until May. I was diagnosed with Pre eclampsia and had to go from working a full time job with an salary to laying on the couch without pay. That hit us hard as we are a two income household. Bed rest was going great and was working. We saw my blood pressure go down and the boys were thriving.

On Wednesday of this past week my ob sent me to a specialist to do an anatomy scan on the boys. All was looking great until they looked at the brain of baby’s a (now Zion) and saw a lot of blood flow to his brain. The blood flow and the fact he was measuring a pound smaller than his brother was enough concern for the specialist and my Ob to send me to the hospital to have these boys.

They are only 33 weeks! We expected at least 3-4 weeks more so we were shocked. We headed straight to the hospital and shortly after the induction process began. Things were moving along slowly then all of a sudden Zion decided it was time to make his entrance! He barley waited for my doctor to arrive. I was able to deliver Zion vaginally but Jupiter decided he wanted to move around and had to be delivered via emergency c section.

After all that both boys came out weighing 4.3lb and crying! Jupiter has remained healthy and hasn’t needed anything. He is a little rockstar. Zion needed some assistance breathing but just for one night and is currently on an iv drip because his glucose has been a little low. Overall both boys are thriving and doing so well!

With all the rejoicing also comes some unknowns for us. Most likely the boys will spend up to a month in the NICU. I will spend 3-4 weeks recovering from a double vaginal and c section delivery. During that time I will be unable to fully care for Pura Ann on my own. Josh originally was going to take a month off once the boys got home so we could get settled in a routine, but now we are looking at the possibility of him needing to take longer. He needs to take some time to help me recover and care for Pura and then additional time to help get in a routine once the boys are home with us.

neither of us working is going to take a huge hit. During this time the rent on our house is going up, plus we will have added medical bills and basic necessities. We have applied for several different assistances but most are still pending since we thought we had more time. A lot of people have been asking how they can help, and this is how. Any amount helps so much! The money will go towards medical expenses, bills, basic needs for us and the kids, transportation to visit the boys and supplies still needed for them.

more than donations we ask for your prayers. We are entering into a scary but beautiful stage of life! Pray that the boys will remain healthy and not have any major medical issues. Pray for strength for Josh and I as we navigate all of this. Pray for Pura Ann as she navigates all the changes about to happen. Pray for my healing that I can have the strength to be all my babies need.

please if you feel like helping any amount is huge to us! We are so blessed by such wonderful friends and family. We can’t wait to introduce you to our miracle twins.
