Dear friends, family, and wider community,
Thank you so much for taking a moment to read this. With full hearts, we’re so grateful to share that our baby boy has arrived safely! These early days have been full of love, awe, and adjustment as we settle into this postpartum time together.
I’m reaching out with gratitude and humility to ask for support as we navigate this new chapter. As a self-employed mother, I don’t qualify for EI maternity or parental benefits due to the surprise nature of this pregnancy, and after exploring all available government resources, I’ve found that my eligibility is very limited.
We’ve taken thoughtful steps—like downsizing to more affordable housing—to prepare financially, but we’re still facing a period without income while I focus on recovery and caring for our newborn. Any contribution, no matter the size, would go directly toward essential living expenses like rent, food, insurance, and baby-related needs in these first months of his life.
If financial support isn’t possible, your presence in other forms—whether it’s a warm meal, shared resources, encouragement, or simply keeping us in your thoughts—is equally appreciated. Every bit of support helps us feel held and supported by our community.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for walking beside us during this transformative time.
With love and gratitude,
Shanti, Kirin and Baby Tala Sol ❤️
