Walking across Britain for our Community Group

We are the WAUN, a Community-based voluntary group originally from Merthyr, but active across Wales.
Our goal is to encourage solidarity, and selflessness within our community, whilst teaching people self-sufficiency.
When a handful of us started this group in September 2019, we wanted to show people that we don't need to wait around for anyone to help our communities for us - we can, and should, do it ourselves.
Since then, we have been active across Wales. We worked alongside the Foundation for Jewish Heritage in early 2020 in clearing the site of the derelict Merthyr Synagogue - the oldest in Wales.
Our members have been involved in clearing the overgrown cemetary of Sion Chapel in Merthyr, a series of abandoned community allotments in Ferndale, the restoration of the Cefn Fforest Miner's Institute, as well as a host of community-based foodbanks and donation drives.
Our members based in Wrexham have been working on providing supplies to the local community, and holding free food/coffee events along the High-Street.
Though we have Member' fees, we specifically keep them as low as possible (£1 a month) to ensure none of our members ever feel financially unstable as a result of membership with us.
Because of this, we rely solely on donations for our work - ranging from buying tools, supplies for our free food events, and skip-hires for when the local councils aren't able to help us with our clearances.
This August, our current Chair - Joe - will walk from Land's End in Cornwall all the way to John O'Groats in Scotland - the furthest points of mainland Britain, to fundraise for us.
If you can spare a pound or so for this fundraiser, it would go a long way in helping support us.
