We would like to introduce everyone to the newest member of our family. Our little Luca. He was born on July 20th, 2021 and was welcomed with open arms by his loving family. He’s a pretty lucky little baby because he has the most caring mom, most dedicated dad, most loving big sis, and most huggable big bro who love him so much! Luca is now almost 5 months old. He has the biggest and brightest smile in the world.
It is devastating for us to be writing this because nobody could ever imagine this happy, little baby is currently battling against such a horrible disease. Luca was diagnosed with Leukemia on December 2nd, 2021, a disease that only 160 infants in the United States are diagnosed with each year. In just one day our family’s lives have been flipped upside down.
Luca has a long journey ahead while he receives chemotherapy. He is so strong and so brave. We know he will fight and win this battle. Luca has the best support from his doctors, family, friends and most of all his amazing parents who are by his side everyday. However, if you are a parent, you know that along with the everyday joys of raising a family there are also the challenges as far as balancing work schedules with quality family time and the many financial responsibilities that still exist. These challenges have multiplied for them, since receiving this news. The doctors have informed them that Luca may be in the hospital for almost up to 6 months with intermittent days that he could return home while he is receiving his chemotherapy treatments.
We want to help them with these challenges during this difficult time so that they can continue to provide their undivided attention and continue to be by Luca’s side. Please help us share Luca’s story. We do not expect everyone to be able to donate at this time, however just by continuing to share his story with more people will mean more prayers for Luca. And the more prayers we can have mean the most to all of us! Thank you to everyone who has been there to support our family during this most difficult time. We appreciate everyone’s ongoing love and prayers for Luca!
As Luca’s dad said “Luca’s one job through all of this is to keep smiling and we will take care of the rest.” We believe this is all possible with God’s help.
