Bridge Funding Campaign: Meeting the Challenge

Tax deductible
HELP WILDERNESS TORAH MEET THE CHALLENGE TOGETHER
Wilderness Torah is in an unexpected financial shortfall. We’re calling on community help to reach a $50,000 Bridge Funding goal by March 31.

This Bridge Funding will enable Wilderness Torah to retain program staff, continue to serve over 200 families actively engaged in youth programs, serve 350 participants at Passover in the Desert this spring (our first since the pandemic), and evolve toward more sustainability.

We’ve never had to make this kind of request to our community before. In fact, we’ve successfully hit our financial goals year after year. But, nonetheless, we face a perfect financial storm:

  • COVID program cuts slashed 2020-2022 revenue and consumed our financial reserves.
  • Significant foundation grants expired and new grants were lower than projected for 2022.
  • Inflation and Bay Area cost of living substantially increased our personnel costs.

YOUR DONATION WILL BE DOUBLED
Wilderness Torah needs to raise a total of $300,000 in Bridge Funding by March 31st. We are raising $200,000 from foundations and need to raise $100,000 from community and supporters like you.

We have been offered a matching gift of $50,000 from two anonymous donors. We need to raise $50,000 from the community to match this. Every dollar you give - up to $50,000 — will be matched dollar-for-dollar — and will guarantee we receive the entire $100,000.

BUILDING VILLAGE WITH YOU

Wilderness Torah is here for you, our community.
  • If you consider Wilderness Torah to be your spiritual community…
  • If you've been transformed by the music and prayer at Wilderness Torah...
  • If your child came home from Wilderness Torah with filthy clothes and eyes lit up...
  • If Wilderness Torah exposed you to a Jewish way you only dreamed of previously…
  • If Wilderness Torah rites of passage ceremony has transformed or inspired you…
  • If Wilderness Torah teachings have transformed how you do life…
  • If you’ve grown as a leader within the Wilderness Torah village…
  • If you’ve grown as an elder within the Wilderness Torah village…
  • If you want this community organization to continue to thrive…

… then now is the time to lean in with your financial support.

TRANSFORMING JEWISH LIFE
In our village, we learn to live together on earth, informed by deeply rooted Jewish tradition while seeking and integrating the revelations needed for today. Ironically, Wilderness Torah faces this first-ever financial crunch at the moment we are poised to offer our most transformative work in the community.
  • We are staffed with extraordinary leaders and our community is actively engaged.
  • We recently completed our most successful High Holiday and Sukkot programs in attendance, revenue, and impact.
  • Passover in the Desert, which is close to selling out, will be our most epic festival ever!
  • Families continue to fill our youth programs and we are poised to launch Shomrim, a new year-long offering for high school teens, with a new Covenant Signature Grant.

PLEASE MAKE A STRETCH FOR US
We need to raise $50,000 in Bridge Funds in addition to the money we will need to raise to make our annual 2023 Budget. So, even if you’ve already given this year, you give monthly, or if you will give at year’s end, we need your special support now.

If you give $36 every year, this is the time we need you to give $360. We need Bridge Funding support now, in addition to your annual support that one often gives at year’s end. As always, every size gift helps this effort, and we ask everyone to stretch and support Wilderness Torah to keep its doors open.

Give again, double your donation, and please share this with your family and friends who may have more to give.

THANK YOU for supporting Wilderness Torah so that together, we may powerfully build on the last 15 years of building village, mentoring youth, and fostering a regenerative earth-based Judaism movement. Wilderness Torah thrives because of your participation and contribution, and we are grateful to each and every one of you for rising with us in this critical moment.

Together, we will go from strength to strength.
