Hi, my name is Nana, and my mission is simple but powerful:
- End period poverty by supporting girls and young women under 25 with free high-quality menstrual products through an online store.
- Break the stigma surrounding menstruation by educating boys, men and fathers to build empathy, understanding and lasting cultural change.
When She Flows isn’t just about providing free products, it is about changing conversations. Periods should not be hidden, shameful or misunderstood. We need to create communities where menstruation is acknowledged as a natural part of life and get to the point where we are no longer paying excessive prices for common essentials women need daily.
As a mum of two young sons, this mission is personal. I want my boys to grow up knowing how to support not only me, but to understand what their future partners, friends and colleagues may experience and to become men who lead with empathy, respect, kindness and knowledge.
Why this matters
?
Period poverty even in 2025 is still a harsh reality in the UK and worldwide.
Statistics show:
- 1 in 10 girls and women can’t afford menstrual products.
- 1 in 5 have changed to less suitable products due to cost.
- Since the cost-of-living crisis began in 2022 period poverty has worsened and more families are struggling to afford basics and in 2025 it hasn’t improved.
- Young boys and most men do not know much about menstruation or how the cycle truly works.
The focus has only been on products and while that is excessively important, to create real and lasting change, we must also tackle the stigma.
By educating boys, men and fathers, we are building a generation where menstruation is understood, respected, supported and not silenced.
So what is WSF doing differently ?
We’re starting in South London, delivering free luxury period products direct and discreet to homes, schools, colleges and universities. Alongside this, we’re building educational programmes that give boys, men and fathers the language, confidence and compassion to join the conversation and not stay outside of it.
How your support helps

- Professionally build a website and community platform to place orders (for free).
- Bulk purchase and distribute free luxury period products.
- Recruit professionals in the field of women's health and fund educational workshops for schools, communities and fathers’ groups.
- Cover essential logistics (delivery, packaging, printing, venue hire).
- Pay for marketing to amplify the message to reach more communities across the UK and beyond.
- Printed materials and educational resources for workshops.
- Have a professional address and admin set up for the CIC.
This is more than a project to me. It's a mission to change mindsets, empower young women and build communities where every girl and woman can thrive When She Flows, knowing she has access to free luxury products.
If we have a space where boys and men can learn, communities, schools, homes and workplaces become, kinder and more supportive for women. By educating them, we will have a generation that supports women with understanding and not silence.
PLEASE DONATE to abolish shame and embarrassment around being unable to afford menstrual products and let us create a new generation of young boys, men and fathers, open to learning and understanding menstruation in depth, in order to better support and understand the real struggles that young girls and women face.
Funds raised will be held in a dedicated account and used exclusively for the set up, launch and pilot of WHEN SHE FLOWS CIC. Once registered, all remaining funds will be transferred to the official CIC account.
