Couch to half marathon

This year would have been dads 60th birthday so what better way to honour his memory by trying to raise money for a charity extremely close his heart… Veterans HQ!!

Those who know me know I can’t run to the end of the road without getting out of breath so this is definitely going to be a challenge! However, dad ran many half marathons in his younger (fitter) days so what a way to pay tribute to his memory!

Why HQ? Well In 2010, dad met Bob Blanchard who had a vision to open a One Stop Shop for Veterans. He was the first Veteran to go through the process as at the time he was struggling and finding it difficult to adapt to civilian life not knowing which way to turn. Dad developed his skills and knowledge and as a result, was elected to become Co-Chairperson of LVP HQ.

Veterans HQ do so much to support veterans from things like finances, housing, vets in the criminal justice system (this was dads pride and joy) to being a simple ear to listen and a safe place for people to talk with likeminded people.

So even if you can spare a pound it really would be appreciated and going to an amazing cause!!
