CLASP & Ballymote Community Nursing Unit

Donation protected
Eastern Harps GAA are delighted to assist CLASP and Ballymote Community Nursing Unit. Both organisations are based in the heart of our community, providing vital services at a time of great need.  Both organisations are seeing increased financial pressures in running their day to day services.

Ballymote Community Nursing Unit
Ballymote Community Nursing Unit now more than ever need to ensure social inclusion and interaction for all our resident's. Eleven weeks has passed since we started visiting restrictions and while we are using many forms of modern technology to maintain contact for our residents nothing is better than seeing our loved ones face to face especially for our elderly residents. Ballymote Community Nursing Unit are hoping to develop their garden area to ensure it will allow safe social distancing visits for our residents and their loved ones as we move forward and live with this pandemic.

All donations will go directly towards the development and enhancement of our Garden area at the Ballymote Community Nursing Unit.

CLASP
CLASP as a community development company has over the last 23 years had the capacity to self-finance operational costs of the services they provide to the most vulnerable and isolated within the community where we live. Their service includes the provision of meals as well as rural transport services for many elderly isolated people. With the outbreak of the COVID-19 they have seen two thirds of their income stream disappear and in just one month have had a significant strain placed on their finances and reserves.

The Challenge
Eastern Harps senior players and management has very willingly agreed to come on board in an effort to raise funds which will ensure the continuation of these vital services in our area.

This challenge  will involve two teams of 17 which includes players and management. A player from each team will be pitted against each other to see who can cover the most distance using a sports GPS app. The winner of each dual will donate to the charity and the loser must double that donation. There will be regular updates on Facebook, and we are asking people to row in behind the players and donate. The challenges will run from now until the 24th May 2020

We are appealing to all club members and supporters to support both very worthy charities. Your support will ensure the continuation of this valuable service in our very own community. All money raised will be donated to these worthy causes.
