The Problem
During the winter months, Pakistan comes under very cold weather. This time of year is particularly difficult for those living in poverty and the homeless, as they lack the means to stay warm all the time, making it easy for children especially to succumb to the cold and flu (As winter turns hazardous Pakistan’s poor are left out in the cold). In 2015, 24.3% of the population was found to be below the poverty line (Poverty Data Pakistan). The COVID-19 pandemic creates a concern for millions more to fall below this line, due to dense living quarters making it easy for the virus to spread (In Pakistan pandemic could push millions more into poverty). As winter weather is fast approaching, this project aims at helping some of the children in poor regions to stay warm.
The Target Beneficiaries
This project is aiming to buy warm clothes and blankets for children aged 1 month to 14 years in Gojra, Pakistan to help them get through the cold weather this winter.
What Will Be Provided
The money collected will be used to purchase a package of:
1. One woolen cap
2. One pair of warm socks
3. Two pairs of shoes
4. One blanket
How the Project Will be Managed
Nabeel Tamas is a full-time missionary working to find ways to help those in need. 100% of the money donated will go towards purchasing and distributing the warm clothes.
