Meet  Declan

Declan is the sweet little boy of Amanda and Josh Koegler!  Heading into delivery they knew that Declan was going to have a Cleft Lip but not to what extent.  Due to Covid, Amanda and Josh were unable to do their follow up visits with CHP in person and had to do everything virtually. Declan entered the world on Friday June 5 after Amanda was induced.   After over 14 hours of labor, Amanda had to have a stat C-Section due to her running a fever and decrease in Declan’s heart rate.   That was just the beginning!! Amanda had a hemorrhage and became septic and is in a good deal of pain. Declan has Cleft Lip AND Cleft Palate and was unable to regulate his Glucose level so he had to be transferred to CHP because some things were not adding up and that is the best place for him.  Amanda was not discharged so Josh went on his own to be with Declan at the hospital.   Declan will undergo testing over the next few days to determine what may be the cause and what the plan is moving forward.   Amanda got discharged today and plans to head to Pittsburgh on Wednesday but things are turning to be tough because the Ronald McDonald house is not operating right now due to Covid.  They did find a house to stay in starting Thursday but will need some help with finances right now for the house, gas, and and other necessities that they may need.
