Wound care kits for the homeless
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Christian, I am a Life Scout from Troop 65 in Portland, Oregon. I have been a member of Troop 65 since I was 11, and before that, I went through all of Cub Scouts, where I earned my Arrow of Light, which is the highest award in Cub Scouts. Now I'm working on the highest award in Boy Scouts; the rank of Eagle Scout.
Over the past two years, I've done volunteer work with the Urban Missionaries of Portland, which is an organization that distributes supplies to the homeless living on the streets in the Portland area. Their focus is primarily on giving out food, drinks, clothing and hygiene supplies. Unfortunately, they have long struggled to keep first aid and wound care supplies in stock. Living conditions for the homeless are typically very dirty, making it very easy for cuts and wounds to become infected.
For these reasons, I have decided to make the Urban Missionaries of Portland the beneficiary for my Eagle Scout Service Project. My project will be to assemble 130 wound care kits for the homeless in Portland and the greater Portland area. These kits will contain; triple antibiotics, rolls of gauze, and various sizes of adhesive bandages.
Donations of any size will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, and God bless.
