So on the weekend of 29th & 30th March we have two trekking challenges to raise funds for Weston Park Cancer Charity & WBCC junior development.

On Saturday 29th March from 10am we are setting out to walk around the Worsbrough Ward Boundary which is 14 miles (22.5km) in total. This is a fantastic challenge with some amazing scenery and historical sights on the way. Starting from WBCC HQ in a clockwise direction it takes in the highest point in Barnsley near Worsbrough Common to the old Barrow Colliery railway near Blacker Hill.

Approximate time 6 hours.

On Sunday 30th March our Junior trek is a 5k hike from WBCC HQ towards Rockley and Birdwell Woods. Another fantastic walk with great scenery of the Worsbrough Countryside.

Approximate time 2 hours

Both walks go on uneven and muddy ground so good footwear is essential. Snacks will be provided on the junior walk. A packed lunch is advisable on the Saturday walk.
