World Senior Tennis Championship Fundraiser

My name is Ben Klemasz and I'm organising this fundraiser on behalf of my mother, Valerie Klemasz, who needs your help to compete in the World Senior Tennis Championships in Mallorca, Spain in October 2023.

I couldn't be more proud of my Mum who is ranked number 3 in Australia for her age group after competing in several tennis tournaments around Australia. On the back of winning 2 gold, a silver and a bronze in the Australian Masters in Perth in 2022, Mum has now qualified to compete in the World Senior Tennis Championships in Spain.

Competing at such an elite tournament representing Australia will fulfil a life-long dream to play at the top level and culminate in the experience of a lifetime. Mum has always had a love and passion for tennis and was very talented as a junior. At the age of 14, Mum was selected to represent South Australia but was unable to participate when her mother apologised to the selectors and told them she had to go to work and she was one of 16 children. Since then, she has always put her family first, being a loving and selfless mother of 7 children.

It wasn't until her move to Victor Harbor that she picked up a racquet and reignited her passion for the game. She joined the Back Valley Tennis Club and shortly after entered the regional games in Bordertown, winning gold and bronze medals. Mum loves to compete and has always taught her children to work hard and try their best. She is an inspiration to me and to everyone who has the pleasure to know her. I'm sure you will all agree that no matter the result at the World Senior Championships she will compete will grit, determination, poise and grace.
