For the third consecutive year, Lord willing, we will be completing another Boston Marathon together!

Here is our trophy cabinet:

2018
Ran in 4h:52 vs. Target Time of 5h:00.
Raised $9,302 vs. Target of  $7,000

2019
Ran in 4h:39 vs. Target Time of 4:52.
Raised $20,250 vs. Target of  $10,000

We did it!

So what better challenge this year than to run a third marathon (trilogies come in threes) and beat both records! So here are 2020’s targets: Let’s run the marathon in 4:39 or better and raise $12 000 or better!

Gail, (my honorary coach) and I welcome all support financial and moral support – your investment will be safe, as we are committed (today was my first training run of the season -a frigid 15 Degrees F (-10 Degrees Celsius)!
This year our participation in this world-famous race is for a cause greater than my fitness or breaking records –  I am representing our community in its diverse richness. This time I will run the “Race For All Races”.  Let me explain. In 2016, my family and I were targeted by some students in our town and surrounding towns in a racially motivated incident. For national public radio (WBUR) news coverage go to https://www.wbur.org/morningedition/2016/08/29/wellesley-racism-vigil-musikavanhu-family.
Our town’s response completely surprised us –people from across the political spectrum stood against racism and supported our family stance of confronting the scourge of racism with courage, grace and determination. It is with those three virtues I will run to celebrate all the people, who live in our town and beyond, regardless of race. That is why I am running for the World of Wellesley in their aim to make “Wellesley, Massachusetts a welcoming community where diversity is celebrated.” 2020 also happens to be their 30th year! This funding will contribute to making Wellesley, the US and the global community better by funding student and community education in building the bridges that unite and strengthen us!
