Wool socks for the homeless "SnookieSocks"

Covid-19 update:

Given our circumstances with social distancing and keeping everyone involved safe, we have decided to not have drop off locations this year. We are accepting monetary donations only. We will limit the contact by arranging the purchase, pick up and delivery of the socks from the retailers to the shelters.

More than ever we need to help our fine folks through your donations There are limited capacities everywhere and it adds extra strain to those in need. Thank you.

The story follows but we must say thanks the following:

Royer Thomson firm for kicking off this year’s campaign with the purchase of 300 pairs of socks.

As well, SnookieSocks has partnered with Global News as a media sponsor and we want to officially thank them for their generosity in helping to get the message out. This is a huge way of giving back to their communities.

And now the story:

When was the last time you had to take your boots off, outside,  and discard your wet socks because your feet were freezing?

Many Homeless have to do this almost daily to keep from freezing.

The #FitItForward Campaign already supplies the winter boots.

A simple donation of $5.00 will supply a pair of wool socks. We are trying to get at least 500 pairs to match the winter boot donation.

Only one step to keeping our homeless warm and dry.

Why wool? It doesn't soak up the water like cotton does and is actually moisture wicking which allows the foot to stay drier.

The donations will go directly to the purchase of wool socks for the homeless.

After a meeting with Luke MacDonald of Aerobics First and creator of the FitItForward campaign, I thought i could help in some small way. This is my giving back.

Note: the amount shown is a running total from a couple of years and is not this year only
