Hi my name is Tracy "The Goat" Jones and I have been gladly mowing the grass at the Woodsboro Disc Golf Course since 2016. I have paid for 3 push lawn mowers with my own money and have worn them all out mowing more acreage then they could handle. My passion for maintenance at Woodsboro is off the chain. The course is maintained by a few volunteers and at this time grass cutting is the most time consuming but also the most needed aspect to keep one of the highest rated courses in Maryland looking and playing great. I am asking for your support to help purchase a commercial Zero Turn lawn mower that can handle the acreage required to maintain the course. As you may know the town of Woodsboro does not mow the wooded fairways. It takes over 24 hrs. to mow this course with a push mower and I have been gladly doing so while also helping to build and maintain the new course in Emmitsburg. However, I am entering my mid 60's and I cannot continue to muster the strength to cut the grass as often as needed. If you play Woodsboro often you may have seen the difference this past season, between a fresh cut compared to a few weeks without. Of course there is still areas that will need a push mower to maintain but that will be greatly reduced.
