Woodburn Neighborhood Sign Replacement Fundraiser

Donation protected
The Woodburn neighborhood in Morgantown, WV, is raising money to replace our "Welcome to Woodburn" neighborhood sign which was stolen from its posts in October 2021 at the intersection of Monongalia and Richwood Avenues. The sign was never found, and law enforcement has no leads to date. It's assumed that the sign was severely damaged during the theft, so the Woodburn Association of Neighbors is actively pursuing its replacement.

The Dominion Post wrote an article about the theft.

Some More Information
The original was designed and manufactured by local artist Jamie Lester, and we are working with him again on the new one. The sign is large - approximately 8 feet wide by 3.5 feet tall and will be more securely reinforced with metal posts set in concrete. We believe these measures should help prevent future theft. Like many communities, folks here are proud to call Woodburn home and these neighborhood signs provide a sense of identity. We are a safe, welcoming, and proud community within Morgantown and we want others to feel those things when they visit our neighborhood.

We are also working with the City of Morgantown, which will provide some funding and the workforce to install the new one. This GoFundMe is one of several simultaneous fundraisers to help us meet our total goal of $2,000. We need your help to get there!

Other Opportunities
LovingWV is selling Woodburn stickers and magnets and will be donating proceeds to the neighborhood.
Chris Haddox will be playing a benefit concert at a neighbor's house on April 22nd.
