Wood Sheds for Navajo Families

Our son, Elder Martin, served as a missionary on a Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. He recently passed away unexpectedly while serving, and our family was devastated. Elder Martin was loved and respected by the community, spending countless hours helping families chop wood for their winter stoves. For most, this is their only source of warmth, and keeping wood dry is a constant challenge. Many families don’t have proper wood sheds; instead, they rely on tarps to protect their wood, doing their best to keep it dry through harsh winters.

In honor of Elder Martin’s legacy of service, we want to raise funds to build wood sheds for those in the community who need them most. The funds will go directly toward materials and travel expenses, while the labor will be provided as service. This project will not only help families stay warm, but also bring the community together in a spirit of cooperation and kindness.

The Navajo people are incredibly giving, and their land is precious to them. In some places, it’s hard to get electricity or even running water. A donation, no matter how small, will help lighten the load this winter and for many winters to come. These new wood sheds will stand as a reminder of Elder Martin’s love of the Navajo people, and building them will be a community effort—not just a donation, but a gift of working together to improve their situation. Your support means so much to us and to the families who will benefit from this project.
