Women's Initiative in Peru

My name is Ane Kiepen, I am a 16 years old and live in the  Bay Area . I am extremely passionate about my view that a quality education should not be a privilege, but an entitlement to which young people all over the world should enjoy. I am applying for the Critical Issues Summit through an organization called Rustic Pathways. This trip is built around the strong women of Peru working for equal opportunity and education that many of us take for granted. This program is meant to enlighten students on the adversity these women overcome in order to make ends-meet. In doing so, often education is a second priority to these Peruvian families. My goal is to use this insight to start my own nonprofit organization and to be an advocate for young women's right to education. Through meeting the wonderful women of Peru I desire to bring awareness and recognition to the backbones of these hard working families. I hope you feel as strongly about my cause and I would appreciate any form of donation no matter how small.
