Women's and family health initiative

Donation protected
The health initiative aims to support in particular women's health and well-being. Our focus is predominantly on Black women, teenagers, children and infants. Black women and babies have the highest rates of infant and maternal mortality and though women speak up, they are often not listened to. The initiative aims to act as a one-stop shop to provide accurate and culturally appropriate information, as well as free resources. The aim is to cover the entire spectrum of women's lives in relation to health and well-being- with an emphasis on health literacy and education. The funds raised will be used to cover the basic costs of setting up: this involves the website costs, registration and promotional material. Part of the fund will be used to provide subsidised counselling support; we are doing a limited amount of spaces for this initial phase. Also a portion will be allocated to cover the cost of breastfeeding support for complex feeding issues (Ibclc/private 1:2:1).  Part of our work will be to signpost to other organisations and charities to provide specialist support to those who contact us. We would like to achieve our fundraising goal within a month. We really appreciate everyone who will make a contribution and we wholeheartedly believe that this initiative will make a practical difference in people's personal lives by helping to reduce the current inequalities.
