On 13th September, I'll be taking on the Great North Run to raise £1,000 for Her Circle.

Her Circle supports women experiencing complex motherhood. Women whose journeys have often been shaped by trauma, domestic abuse, addiction, mental ill health, poverty, and involvement with children's services. Whatever their story, they deserve the opportunity to heal, grow, and build fulfilling lives.

What makes Her Circle different isn't just the support we provide; it's the community we create. Every woman who walks through our door is welcomed with warmth, kindness, and without judgment. She becomes part of a community that loves and accepts her for who she is, not what has happened to her. Together, women build genuine friendships, rediscover their confidence, celebrate one another's successes and begin to imagine a future filled with hope.

For many, that journey also means rebuilding relationships with their children. Sometimes that leads to reunification. Sometimes it means creating safe, meaningful and lasting connections in whatever way is possible. Whatever the outcome, no woman should have to navigate that journey alone.

As CEO of Her Circle, I have the privilege of witnessing these transformations every day. I see women who once believed they had nothing to offer become confident, creative, compassionate members of a community that believes in them. Their courage is the reason I'm taking on the Great North Run.
