Hi everyone! I'm Andrea, and I’m raising funds to support Singapore and the UK’s hawkers and overlooked small businesses through financial literacy, wellbeing and sustainable growth.

Singapore, like the UK, has an ageing population, and many older hawkers continue working while facing rising costs, complex government schemes and limited access to resources. I’ve seen first-hand how difficult it can be for small businesses to secure funding and implement sustainable solutions.

I want to connect hawkers/businesses with financial-literacy mentoring, grants, health and wellbeing resources, and affordable sustainability solutions.

Over the coming months, I’ll also be spending time with owners and documenting their experiences: from sitting at a coffee shop table over a cup of hot chocolate to helping someone work through a four-page government application.

Your donation will help turn these conversations into practical support and create a platform for more sustainable, financially empowered local businesses.

My Goals with this project are this:

-engaging 500+ hawker owners, supporting 200+ benefit applications, unlock $150,000+ in government benefits, reach 30,000+ community members through newsletters and printed resources

-deliver financial and environmental literacy workshops to aging small businesses

-distribute health products to elderly owners

Through this platform and my journalism work, I also hope to promote these businesses to a wider audience, building their customer base and supporting local.
