My name is Haleigh. I was born and raised in Spruce Pine, NC. A small town nestled in Mitchell County. After losing our home to Helene we moved to Southport, NC to be closer to my mom.

When Helene devastated us a year ago, Craig, the General Manager of The Frying Pan & American Fish Company in Southport, NC was amongst the first to come up with his food truck and team. They spent countless days serving hot meals to so many of us- families and emergency workers! Many of us do not know Craig personally, but we have all felt the impact of his kindness and selfless service to our community!

On Saturday night, September 27, the 1- year anniversary of Hurricane Helene, tragedy struck at Craig’s front door when a mass shooting occurred at American Fish Company. The tragedy left 3 dead, 5 others wounded and hundreds more mentally and emotionally shaken. In the aftermath, both American Fish & The Frying Pan have closed their doors indefinitely as they grieve and seek healing together.

I am asking you to join me in standing beside Craig, the staff of The Frying Pan, & American Fish Company the same way they stood by us after Helene.

Craig once came to us with open hands & a servant’s heart. Now it’s our turn to return the kindness & show him and his team that they are not alone!
