It Takes A Village

Hello! My name is Ann Harrawood. I am writing today to ask for your support, not for myself, but for my friend Daniella Buenaventura. I had the honor of teaching alongside Daniella at Frank Parter Graham Bilingüe. She is currently making her way through the immigration system to be able to legally stay in the United States and continue to work in the educational system.

Daniella has spent the last couple of years completing classes, saving money, and working to take care of her family in addition to teaching full time. Daniella worked at Frank Porter Graham Bilingüe in Chapel Hill, North Carolina from 2016 to 2020, where she won Teacher of the Year for the school and a district level Excellence in Teaching Dual Language Award. Though Daniella was succeeding and growing at FPGB, she had to leave due to legal immigration restrictions. Since 2020, Daniella has worked at Spotswood Elementary in Harrisonburg, Virginia. While working there she won Teacher of the Year for a second time for her school and also the district!
