The Backpacks for Hope Project was created at the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) by a group of high school students. Our project is affiliated with the Trumbull and Bridgeport, Connecticut Rotary clubs. Its purpose is to benefit those in need in Fairfield County and surrounding towns, by providing them with backpacks filled with needed toiletries. We are focusing on the collection of gently used and new backpacks, disposable masks, deodorant, soap, and more. We will be distributing the filled backpacks at events such as the Medical Mission and to the Alpha Community Services (YMCA).

Here's what we will use these funds to purchase for those in need:

Gently Used or New Backpacks
Wet Wipes or Hand Sanitizer
Disposable masks and gloves
Deodorant
Toothpaste & toothbrushes
Soap (Bar, Liquid)
Menstrual Hygiene Products
Dental Floss
Socks (New)

As you know, due to the coronavirus, many more people are in need of basic supplies in our area, and your donation will help us fill this critical need. Thank you so much.
