Sitting here, I can’t believe we are living in this surreal moment.

On Thursday, January 29, 2026, Mike Walsh—a beloved husband, loving father, and devoted provider—passed away suddenly, leaving behind his young wife and two beautiful daughters.

This new reality is incredibly difficult for everyone to accept, but nothing is harder than trying to process such profound loss and grief while also protecting and helping two very young children navigate their own heartbreak. Alongside the emotional pain comes the overwhelming reality of wondering how to fill the loss of income and how to allow Mike’s daughters to continue the activities they love—activities that brought so much joy and pride to Mike’s life.

As a fellow girl dad and youth coach, I can’t help but sit here trying to figure out how to help. This fundraiser is the simplest and most meaningful way I know. It gives everyone who knew Mike—or even those who crossed paths with him—the opportunity to support his girls and help them maintain a sense of the life they had before his sudden passing.
