Hi, my name is Andrew Cushen. On the 19th of October I will be running the Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon 2025.

I will be taking part in this half marathon In honour of my amazing cousin John McCann and any donations I receive will be going directly to the John McCann Foundation.

John McCann is my amazing cousin who very sadly passed away at the age of 38 on November 27, 2024, after being diagnosed with a brain tumour in January of the same year. Despite the immense challenges he faced, he passed away peacefully in ICU, surrounded by love.

In his memory, his wife Patricia — with the support of friends and family — established the John McCann Foundation. The foundation’s mission is to support individuals in the arts community who are experiencing ill health, life-threatening illnesses, or injury, helping to enhance their quality of life during their most difficult times — just as John would have wanted.

John McCann was an amazing person, with the biggest smile, the kindest heart and the ability to light up any room he went into. He will always be remembered in our hearts and he is always on our mind. I know he will be with me through every step of this challenge.
