BUILDING THE WIXÁRIKA INDIGENOUS SANCTUARY

THE FIRST of many indigenous communities that need our help in this time are “THE WIXÁRIKAS”, biggest indigenous community in México.

Hi, We are MARAKAME by FERNANDO BARBA AMEZCUA NON PROFIT FOUNDATION, and we are fundraising to be able to build the first indigenous sanctuary on the planet.

In order to accomplish this goal we will be fundraising through different methods (NFT´s , GIVETH, donations & private sector) ; The construction of the 1st 4S Project (SMART, SUSTAINABLE, SACRED, SANCTUARY); a brand new sanctuary that will be built in HARAKUNA (La Laguna, Jalisco). For the preservation of their culture and also a brand new road to enter HARAKUNA.

Por la preservación de su cultura y también por un nuevo camino para ingresar a HARAKUNA.

Goal 1 - THE WIXÁRIKA SANCTUARY /// Objetivo 1 - EL SANTUARIO WIXÁRIKA

This is the main goal of MARAKAME project, together we will build the first indigenous sanctuary of the planet; Through agreements between the Fernando Barba Amezcua AC Foundation and the indigenous leaders of the Wixárika community; the donation of this sanctuary will take place on the fundraising and the construction. The sanctuaries are buildings of approximately between 600 - 800 square meters that will be built by members of the community and will serve as an ethno-biographical vault, exhibition halls about their culture, teaching center for the new generations + connection to the world.

/// Este es el objetivo principal del proyecto MARAKAME, juntos construiremos el primer santuario indígena del planeta; A través de convenios entre la Fundación Fernando Barba Amezcua AC y los líderes indígenas de la comunidad Wixárika; La donación de este santuario se realizará con la recaudación de fondos y la construcción. Los santuarios son edificaciones de aproximadamente entre 600 – 800 metros cuadrados que serán construidas por miembros de la comunidad y servirán como bóveda etnobiográfica, salas de exposición sobre su cultura, centro de enseñanza para las nuevas generaciones + conexión con el mundo.

This sanctuary will be donated and therefore managed by the indigenous people themselves, they will be able to make use of the economic benefits generated by tourism and its visitors, generating a new economy on the community bringing new opportunities to their inhabitants.

This land has been already and authorized for the construction by the authorities of the HARAKUNA council.

Designed by Eklemes Rivial Architecture + Ediphica this project will achieve a sustainable building using materials on site and not breaking with their traditional construction methods.

This sanctuary may exhibit objects, art and photography, through their galleries and aspects of their culture such as: History and origins | Traditions | Crafts | Language | clothing | Gastronomy | Flora | Fauna Also it will have a traditional “KALIWEY” Ceremonial center for their traditional practices + will function as a teaching center for younger Wixárika generations.

THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE SANCTUARY WILL BE EXECUTED BY MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY GENERATING INCOME FOR THEIR FAMILIES, ALSO WILL BE BUYING MASTER PIECES OF TRADITIONAL ARTCRAFTS FROM MANY ARTISANS TO HAVE THE BEST WORKS ON DISPLAY. THIS SANCTUARY WILL BE SO AMAZING THAT EVERYONE WILL WANT TO VISIT THE COMMUNITY AND BE THERE!!

Goal 2- Improvement of 4 kilometers of road to access HARAKUNA!

/// OBJETIVO 2- Mejorar 4 kilometros de camino para entrar a HARAKUNA!

The Wixarika community that lives in La Laguna (HARAKUNA) faces great challenges, one of them is the entrance to their community, the current roads are in very bad condition and often making it impossible to access by car, that is why through the collection of funds with the Marakame nft project we will be able to improve 4 kilometers of road allowing easy access to their community.
