Withyham Watch ANPR camera installation
Donation protected
Over the past five years, our village has experienced a worrying increase in criminal activity with suspicious vehicles entering the area at odd hours. These incidents, which spiked again at the start of this year, have left the community feeling concerned for future criminal activity and the safety of Withyham.
To help deter further crime and support the efforts of local police, we are raising funds to install ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras at key entry and exit points of the village. These cameras will record vehicle movements and provide vital information in the event of a crime — helping identify suspects, track stolen vehicles, and ultimately make our community safer.
Having already received a grant from Withyham Parish Council and Withyham Church, we are aiming to raise an additional £7500 to cover the cost of equipment, installation, and maintenance. Every donation, big or small, will bring us one step closer to creating a more secure and safe community for everyone who lives here.
