Winter Warmth Kits for the Homeless

Donation protected
Hello All,
I am Akshay, a boy scout and a volunteer at HomeFirst community .

While searching for eagle service projects, one of my ideas was to provide winter kits for the homeless.  Most of us have heating in our home and schools and cars, but the homeless have no place to get that warmth. In the kit, I wanted to provide blankets, gloves, socks, ponchos, beanies and some other things to help them feel warm and cared for.

Unfortunately, I found out that while it was a great idea for a community service project, it didn't satisfy some requirements to be an eagle project.  I was disappointed but not discouraged. I decided to do this as a community service project. I have been to the HomeFirst shelter to volunteer and feel that it will really help the folks there be warmer this winter.

But each kit will cost upto 25$. Hundreds of these kits are needed. I want to start this season with the goal of providing 100 such kits.  If you could please donate generously to this cause, some more people can go through winter with some more warmth.

I am seeking donations to help raise money, in lieu of which I will be running a half marathon in Richmond on February 23rd.

This holiday season, please help a homeless feel the warmth as well.

Thank you.
