Winter Rose, Quanti and Zach

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Cynthia and I am fundraising in support of my great-granddaughter, Winter Rose, and her parents, Quanti and Zach. Winter Rose is one month old and has already undergone two open heart surgeries and will have to undergo a heart transplant when a heart becomes available. Winter Rose's parents have no paid leave left on their jobs. To spend time with their one-month-old baby, their time off work is without pay. So any donations raised will be greatly appreciated and will go toward rent, utility, food, and gas for their car so they can visit Winter Rose in the hospital which is almost an hour from their home, and meals at the hospital.

The following excerpt from Quanti's FB page provides more background into this family's situation:

"Winter was born with tubular sclerosis. My entire pregnancy was high risk as we found she had a heart tumor around 16 weeks. We monitored it throughout the entire pregnancy. Eventually, it grew to a point where the tumor was so enlarged it blocked off the entire left side of her heart. I started medication for transplant patients that, thank the Lord, shrunk the tumor but opened a whole world of problems. We planned for a csection & emergency heart surgery at the time of her birth. Honestly, no one knew what to expect. At birth, the tumor was gone and she didn't need emergency surgery. Yet, after many many tests and imaging, the doctors saw that she had a lot going on. She had open heart surgery just four days after birth. The doctors added shunts and a line through her heart. She did AMAZING. Sooo strong. Two days after surgery, she took a plunge and set us back. Fast forward to this week which has been EXTREMELY challenging as a mom for them to tell you her heart is still growing and has paralyzed her left lung/diaphragm . After many meetings with what seems like tons of doctors and surgeons, and laying out options, the best for her is sadly a heart transplant. I'm sick . I continue to pray. Praying as I've never prayed before honestly. Trying not to question the will of God because everything happens for a reason. I'm just sad to have to see such a small one go through so much. Every time someone asks how she's doing, of course, I'm going to say okay because I don't want to make a big deal. When anyone asks if am I okay, of course, I say I'm OK. But, I am hurt. . I've only held her twice and have only kissed her once. That tears me up...."

On Jan 17th, Winter Rose had to undergo a second open heart surgery to place a VAD. Now we wait for an available heart so she can have heart transplant surgery.

Thank you for listening and for your support.
