Winnam Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation has been operating for 35 years in the Wynnum and Bayside communities of Brisbane. Winnam specialise in community housing, residential aged care, Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), cultural events and all the other services in-between.

Winnam embarks on an exciting new chapter marked by the acquisition of the former Wynnum Hospital site. This transfer symbolises a monumental opportunity aiming to re-purpose the land to meet the increasing and varied needs of First Nations people. It signifies not only the expansion of our organisation, but also the creation of a First Nations space, to be a Well-being Precinct Centre of Excellence.

In collaboration with other First Nations groups and community-controlled organisations, the precinct aspires to serve as a well-being hub of comprehensive support. Winnam endeavours to integrate a purpose-built aged care facility, housing, allied health, early childcare centre, and land and sea management catering to the needs of First Nations peoples and the broader community in the guiding purpose of “keeping our people together”.

Your continued support will help Winnam to continue to celebrate heritage, culture inclusivity and working towards a future where every individual feels warmth of community and the embrace of their culture.

Please support Winnam Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Corporation with a donation if you can. Thank you in advance for your contribution.
