Windsor Park Elementary PTO Fund
Donation protected
Shanna Rae, Principal of Windsor Park Elementary reached out to me on Jan 11 to determine if the Windsor Park Neighborhood would assist her with a special request. She has 4 Teacher of the Year nominees and 2 Honorable Mentions she would like to recognize, but currently no funds.
In her own words:
I have never reached out to you regarding support, and if you find it in your heart to help me, my heart will sing with joy.
Ms. Speight (Harrell) and three other teachers, Ms. Baj, Ms. White and Ms. Jolly are my top teachers within my school. They do a lot of work outside of the classroom that helped our school become a B school and we are working towards being an A school. They volunteer, they help fundraise, they help other grade levels, they help teachers, and they work with our parents even if the child in question does not belong in their actual classroom. All four teachers have been nominated for teacher of the year at Windsor Park and I would like to do something special for all of them. I have two other teachers who came in second place. Ms. Rice and Ms. Scott and I would like to give them a small token of appreciation as well.
I don't have money on hand, we don't have an active PTO, our parents are not rich and I don't have money readily available for me to use for the betterment of Windsor Park. This is one thing that bothers me because If I worked at an affluent school, I would not need to reach out for help.
I don't know what to ask for, I just want to be able to celebrate each teacher. I would love gift cards for dinner or something nice to give and I am seeking your support to do so. If you can and are willing to help me, please let me know. Whatever you can give me will work for me, however, if you can't help me out it is okay and I just remain grateful for what you have done.
Again, thanks for being a true partner.
Shanna Rae, Principal, WP Elementary
100% of funds raised will be donated to WP Elementary Parent Teacher Organization fund to assist in recognizing these phenomenal teachers in our neighborhood. Anything left over will remain in the fund to support ongoing recognition to her staff. Ms. Rae is thrilled the neighborhood is willing to step up to help support this effort.
