Hello friends and family! I have a huge announcement that I’m entirely excited about. I am launching a student facilitated project called WIND. WIND is a summer food program, which through partnership with CFCAT and support from Farm Hands will be putting together bags of food for District #6 students to bring home on the weekends during the summer holiday. There will be several different locations throughout the district for food pick up. Over 200 students in Columbia Falls will be positively impacted by this outreach program.
Columbia Falls Child Assistance Team (CFCAT): serves homeless and in need youth in School District # 6 communities. CFCAT provides connection, assistance, clothing, food and referral to community support to District #6
Farm Hands - Nourish the Flathead: provides food and snacks for students in the District and supports all people of our community in experiencing, local and homegrown food. We strive to connect our community to local food through Production, Education and Access.
The coolest part is that a truck was donated to us with the idea of transforming it into a food truck. The food truck will be used to deliver the food bags for the large population of students in District #6 who are homeless or who might experience food insecurity, during the summer.
So to cut to the chase, my dad, at Tien's Place, is putting on a Spaghetti Feed to help fund the equipment for the truck. ALL your donations will go directly to this program and help us make this awesome project happen. I am reaching out to all of you to help make this a reality, neighbors helping neighbors to Build Our Community!
The Spaghetti Feed and Fundraiser will be Sunday, May 19th from noon to 6 p.m. at Tien’s Place.
I have also attached a Go Fund me account if you are not able to attend and would still like to donate. Please share this to get the word out! This would mean the world to me, the students, and the families in need. A huge thanks beforehand!!
