Hey, I’m Darrius. I’m working on an old bus with my dad and grandpa. The idea really began when we found out our car was destroyed during Hurricane Helene! We needed to figure out a way to replace our car, and I suggested we build a vehicle for all of us to road trip and enjoy together! It has been a dream of mine to be able to build something to take the whole family on road trips during the year. This small camper project has turned into something that’s brought us closer than ever (and covered us in a lot more grease than expected).

It has become even more important to me as my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer while we’ve been working on this bus! My grandfather beat cancer, and while I’m so beyond thankful for that blessing, it has impressed upon me even more the importance of growing closer with him and creating a physical representation of what our family means. We’ve done nearly everything ourselves, but some mechanical stuff we didn’t expect has come up, which has really thrown a wrench in our plans.
