Hello! I am Will, and I am reaching out for help to get me to my goal of owning my own home.
Why homeownership? Why not rent? Well… As with everything in life it all boils down to cost. I have been renting off and on since 2010. In the past eight years, I have lived in eight different apartments and that doesn't even include the times I lived with my mom.
Rent has always been out of my budget, so have had to have roommates (bad experience) or count on my mom to help me with bills. Neither situation is a good solution. Besides rent, finding accessible apartments is like finding a needle in a haystack without a metal detector. The estimated monthly costs of owning my own home (mortgage, utilities, insurance etc.) will be less than the cost of just rent on an apartment.
I currently live in an accessible apartment, however, it is located so far from the services I require that it is making life more difficult for all involved.
Buying a house will solve multiple problems. Avoiding rent hikes, the ability to make the home accessible to my specific needs, closer to care services that will take the strain off of my family giving them more time to live their lives.
The funds raised will go towards my 3.5% down payment. And any funds left over will go towards making the bathroom accessible.
I have already put down $200 of my own money as "earnest money" and as I have any extra income, it is going straight towards getting the house.
Any help towards the goal is greatly appreciated and will finally get me to a point of housing security that I never dreamed possible especially in this real estate market.
