When in Rome... Run your first marathon
I've just turned 25 and decided the best way to handle a quarter-life crisis is to run two marathons back to back. So on the 22nd March, I'll be running my first ever marathon in Rome, followed by the London Marathon on the 26th April, a decision that felt sensible at the time.
It's exciting, slightly terrifying, and definitely a challenge. But it also felt like the right time to do something tough for causes that matter.
Why I'm Fundraising
All funds raised will be split 50/50 between FEAST and Woodlands Primary School, with donation updates shared after the race.
FEAST
FEAST is a registered charity supporting families on low incomes through food provision and access to wider support. I’ve volunteered with FEAST for several years and have seen first-hand the difference this makes in our local community.
Woodlands Primary School
The other half of funds raised will go to my old primary school, Woodlands, to help improve SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) provision and general resources for pupils. Working in education, I see daily how much the right support, resources, and opportunities can change a child's confidence and experience at school. This feels like a meaningful way to give something back.
Training
Running has become a big part of my life over the last few years, so signing up for a marathon felt like a slightly unhinged but fitting next step. Training is well underway: long runs, early mornings, and the occasional shin splints (ouch!). More updates soon!
How You Can Help
If you are able to donate whatever you can spare, I'd be hugely grateful; every contribution really does make a difference. And if donating isn't possible, sharing this page or sending a bit of encouragement means a lot too.
Thank you so much for supporting me (and my legs) on this journey <3
