On Thursday, February 25th, Wilkes-Barre City Mayor George C. Brown met with volunteers interested in raising necessary funding, through eligible grants and donations, to install playground equipment for use by community members with special needs.

The committee plans to begin these improvements at the Kirby Park playground and then expand the installation of special needs playground equipment to other parks in the city.
