If you are reading this then you probably already know what we do. However, just in case you do not - or perhaps only know about part of it - we are based in the top 10 acre section of a 30 acre woodland just east of Bearsted near Maidstone, Kent.
Set up 11 years ago, Wild Times is a not-for-profit social enterprise run by Mark Burr with a focus on improving community well-being, supporting those vulnerable in society, helping 'educate' children and young people through Forest School and associated activities and also working with adults with accident-acquired brain injuries via referrals from Occupational Therapists. Various other adults have also joined us in one way or another in order to benefit rom the naturally therapeutic green space. If your children have attended holiday club then you will know the power of the greenwoods over X-box and TicToc!!!! In addition, we are committed to help manage the 30 acres through woodland management activities thereby restoring, regenerating and rewilding a previously neglected semi-ancient woodland for the benefit of flora and fauna and generations to come.
So why this GoFundMe application? Well, as it says above, we are moving - all the way to the neighbouring middle section of the woodland in order to collaboratively work with the Charity there who own the woods and also work with vulnerable children, young people and adults. This relocation will involve labour and the materials for the building of sheltered areas for dry work space etc and that is what the funds are for.
Any amount, small or large, will be much appreciated in order to help this move along.
Thank you. Mark and the Team
