My Name is Alaa Ahmed Hamouda – A Widow, a Mother, and a Survivor from Gaza
My name is Alaa Ahmed Hamouda, I am 33 years old, a widow, and the mother of three beautiful children – two boys and one girl. My husband was killed in the war, and since that tragic day, my life has changed forever. I never thought I would face the unimaginable task of raising my children alone in a place where even the most basic human needs are missing.
When the war began, we were forced to flee our home in the north of Gaza. We walked for hours, carrying nothing but the hope of survival. I believed moving south would bring safety, but here too, bombs, fear, and destruction followed. Today, we live in a fragile tent made of fabric, exposed to the cold, rain, burning heat, and the constant uncertainty of tomorrow.
Every single day is a struggle. Food is scarce, and too often my children cry themselves to sleep hungry. Clean water is almost impossible to find, and I spend hours searching for even a little to drink. Medicine is gone, and when my children fall sick, I can only hold them in my arms, praying they will recover. As a mother, the pain of watching them suffer without being able to help is unbearable.
I am not asking for luxuries – only for the essentials that every human being and every child deserves: food, clean water, medical care, safety, and dignity. My children have already lost their father; I cannot bear to watch them lose their health, their hope, and their future.
It is not easy for me to share my pain publicly, but I have no other choice. I am reaching out to kind hearts around the world, asking for your compassion and support. Even the smallest donation can make a life-changing difference for us. Your generosity can give my children:
Food, so they do not sleep hungry.
Clean water to drink.
Medicine when they are sick.
Clothes to wear and protection from the weather.
And one day, a chance to live in safety again. ❤
Please, from one human to another, I ask you to stand with us. Share our story so the world knows what families like mine are going through in Gaza. Help us survive, help us rebuild, and help my children have a future.
Thank you for reading our story, for caring, and for supporting us during these dark times. Your kindness and generosity are the light that can bring hope back into our lives.
