Fred Dunfee is a hero, not only did he serve for our country but he now dedicates his life to serving our community. In 2007 Fred was serving in Iraq, he was working on recovering a bombed vehicle when they ran over an IED.  Fred was thrown 30 feet in the air and came back from war with injuries that he will never recover from. He received a bronze star and a Purple Heart.  Fred now spends his life dedicating his time to Concord Impact, a travel softball team he started. Fred was diagnosed with colon cancer 2 months ago...... This not only devastated Fred and his family but his team as well. Fred made a promise that would would still be there for these girls. Above is a picture of Fred, on the left is last year coaching his team, on the right is a current picture., you can see the drastic change in his weight due to the cancer.  He has been going through chemo and radiation for the past 5 weeks, Fred has only missed 2 softball games during this entire time. His dedication is so strong that he will make early morning appointments to go to the hospital to get hydrated and get nausea medicine so he can make it to their weekly tournaments (5-6 games a weekend). Fred started this team because he wanted to make sure these girls would have the fundamentals in place to play softball in high school and beyond. He is such an amazing person and one the most selfless people I have ever met. Your donation does not have to be large but please show this hero that we thank him for dedicating his life to others.
