Hello, My name is Bahaa Al-Ghussein, and I am the owner and founder of the Bahaa Al-Ghussein Company in Gaza, Palestine. Our trading company has been a cornerstone of the city of Gaza for over 15 years. With multiple branches spread across the Gaza Strip, we were a trusted name among local, national, and international institutions and associations. Our business played a vital role in supporting the Palestinian national economy.

However, the recent brutal war has brought devastation upon us. My family's home, our company, and all its facilities, including warehouses and maintenance centers, have been utterly destroyed.

I want to share the plight of my children, who are bearing the brunt of this crisis. My eldest son, Karim, who is 13, should be attending school and learning from his community. Instead, he spends his days collecting firewood so that our family can cook and eat. My 11-year-old son, Zein, should be playing with friends and enjoying his boyhood. Instead, he spends his time searching for drinking water for his younger siblings. He dedicates most of his day to this task, ensuring his siblings and mother have water to drink and cook with.

My two youngest children, Alma and Mohamed, are constantly in distress. Mohamed is particularly terrified by the deafening sounds of bombing, which he describes as apocalyptic. Even my youngest children are forced to gather canned food to sell, earning a small profit to buy food for themselves. They scavenge these cans from markets and resell them, sacrificing their childhood for survival.

The peace and safety of childhood have been stripped away from my children. They have lost their toys, their games, their friendships, and their happiness. No parent should have to witness their children endure such horror.

We have been homeless, living in the open for months with nothing left to our name. It is with great humility and a heavy heart that I reach out to you, my brothers and sisters in humanity. We are not accustomed to asking for help, but the war and its overwhelming destruction have left us no choice. We plead for your assistance to help us evacuate from Gaza, to start anew, find a home, rebuild our business, and live a life of dignity.
