Whittlesea FCV Replacement

Donation protected
On the 19th/20th December, thieves smashed their way into the back of Whittlesea Fire Station sometime through the night.

As part of our preparation for the day members turned up to the station early to find our Field Command Vehicle (FCV) a 4WD land cruiser had been stolen.

Our FCV was purchased through Brigade funds which come from the generous donations of organisations, businesses and kind individuals from the Whittlesea Township.

As we now need to replace the FCV and our insurance simply will not cover the amount we need to purchase and then fit out the vehicle to be suitable for the tasks demanded of it.

FCVs are specially fitted out with radios and other essential items required for communication and coordination vehicle.  Although for some it may only be a car, for the Whittlesea Fire Brigade it was an important member of it’s family.

The timing of this for the Brigade, right before Christmas and as we head into what is forecast to be a long and difficult fire season is a further blow to our volunteers.

For the Whittlesea community, rest assured we are still here to protect lives and property 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you have any information on the whereabouts or the theft please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Whittlesea Fire Brigade is a fully volunteer brigade and we thank you for your contribution.
