Where Future QTBIPOC Reiki Healers are Born

Unlike any Reiki 靈氣 training in the world, Returning to the Shamanic & Buddhist Roots of Reiki ™ harnesses the elements and power of the outdoors while weaving Japanese folk medicine ways with indigenous practices of Turtle Island to train future generations of QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Reiki practitioners.

Since the dominant and popular way of learning Reiki has primarily been disseminated through a western lens—mostly divorced from nature and its Japanese roots—STAR NATION REIKI founder, marie kyoko morohoshi seeks to bring these Reiki teachings alive through her lived cultural experiences and cultivated Japanese sensibility.

Many QTBIPOC folks are drawn to learn this simple yet profound Japanese healing modality to be of service in their respective communities, but oftentimes do not have the means or resources to participate in the annual Reiki training. Therefore, we created the Student Community Scholarship Fund to train as many QTBIPOC practitioners while providing a safe container for these students to truly immerse themselves in ancient Japanese shamanic practices and purification ceremonies of Turtle Island to help them first and foremost, heal themselves.

A portion of the tuition fees will go to Chief Caleen Sisk and their Run4Salmon, “a prayerful journey to restore their salmon runs, protect their waters, and indigenous lifeways" as a commitment to be in right relationship with our Indigenous relatives whose land and waterways STAR NATION REIKI will be practicing on.
