We were told to institutionalize our son. To give up.
But instead—we chose to build something that should have always existed:
A platform created by and for the disability community.
Our son Dayton was born with a rare genetic disorder called Tuberous Sclerosis Complex—a condition that causes tumors to grow in vital organs. Before his first birthday, he developed intractable epilepsy with multiple daily seizures. Over the years, he was diagnosed with Profound Autism, Cortical Visual Impairment, Global Developmental Delay, and Severe Intellectual Disability. He is nonverbal, not toilet trained, and requires full support with all aspects of daily living.
Despite his needs, we were constantly told:
• “We can’t support someone who needs one-on-one care.”
• “We don’t serve nonverbal individuals.”
• “He’s too medically complex.”
• “We aren’t equipped for children who aren’t toilet trained.”
We were turned away by schools, providers, and even residential programs in multiple states. The system—fragmented and overwhelmed—left us with impossible choices: surrender parental rights or watch our son be denied care. No family should ever face that.
So we are building what we couldn’t find.
A centralized platform that bridges gaps, cuts through red tape, and finally makes resources truly accessible.
Disability Resource Partners will offer:
• A personalized intake system that learns your needs
• AI-guided tools to navigate services, benefits, and waivers
• A resource hub that connects families to providers, programs, and funding
• Peer-led chat spaces by diagnosis type
• Advocacy, education, and application assistance
• And—what’s so often forgotten—access to joy through inclusive leisure and fun community activities
This is for every family still searching. For every caregiver barely holding it together. For every individual with a disability who deserves more than the system offers.
We’re raising $25,000 to fund:
• Initial web platform development
• Legal registration, branding, and content writing
• Community outreach and early user testing
Your donation helps us build the platform that differently-abled individuals and their caregivers have waited too long for.
Help us turn isolation into connection.
Confusion into clarity.
Barriers into breakthroughs.
Join the movement—from available to accessible
